Hi,
I own a T68i and I'm considering getting a T630. Since the T630 is 95% like the more popular T610, I thought I'd ask these questions:

1) When you want to send one of your phone book's contacts via SMS, does it allow you to choose the number you want to send the contact to from the phone book? Or do you have to input the number manually as in a T68i?
2) Kind of the same question.. When you want to start a chat session, does it open up the phone book for you to select what number you want to chat with, or do you have to input the number manually?
3) When you open up the phone book, and you want to "search" for a contact by entering the first letters of a name (not through find), does it only let you search by the first letter, or is it more advanced like Nokia and Siemens where it opens up a little box inside the phone book and allows you to type more than one letter?

Anything else I should worry about?

Thanks!

It lets you either enter the number manually or search it from a phone book. btw, t68i let you do same. (just press left when you havenīt yet entered a number) you can enter the number manually or from a phone book. or use any of the unsaved numbers from phone memory.

when scrolling the phone book you can search by entering the first letter only.

You're absoloutly right! Pressing left does open up the "options" menu to select a number! When SMSing, I'm used to clicking the "more options" button on my T68i to select the number (the button opposite the C button).... When sending a contact or starting a chat, the "more options" button doesn't do anything. I thought it was kind of stupid that they missed out on this! But the left button does function the same way

Too bad the search in the phonebook is limited to the first letter I remember my old monochrome Siemens had a more advanced phonebook search than my T68i. It's a pitty to know that you can search names faster in a Nokia or Siemens

Thanks for the help!

hold your joystick right and you can enter as many characters as you want.....sounds like you got lots more to learn about your current T68i.

decoy7, if you read my message, I specificaly asked for a search method other than the "find" function..... Meaning, searching by typing the first letters while viewing the names at the same time.

but thanks for the help

I just mentioned that I own a T68i, and I'm considering getting a T630 (which is similar in features to the T610). I never asked about transferring contacts between the two phones..... I would move the contacts through blue tooth of I ever bought the T630, cause it's free, and much less of a hassle... But my question was about transfering contacts to friends
