> p900 as remote Control
Bookmark topic
Hi:
I have just bought the new p900 and after working with it and fighting a bit against pc suite, etc... i wonder something, is it possible to use the p900 as remote control? I mean, i have a remote control to open my garage door, and it would be great to open it using the p900 instead the remote control...

Maybe you can use use it as a remote control for your garage door if it's using IR or BT.And if it's using one of them you have to find the suitable software to control it.

Quite frankly if you have radio controlled door opener you will be safer to keep on using it (most have a random frequency encryption to stop people hacking your opener). IR will be too weak from the phone, and BT only has a 10m range in perfect conditions, and from inside a car this may be seriously affected (both of these are easier to hack than the encrypted radio frequency). But good luck if you manage to use any of these.
Oh yes - There is irRemote that can control hundreds of devices, but this is only really meant for internal household use (a few meters).

Wouldnt it be cool if you could scan your IR port in a certain area next to your gate instead if inserting a code. You would just scan. Then A femal voice would go: - Yazan's P800 Phone Recognized.

Then it would be quite difficult. Random codificated frequencies need more work
As far as i investigate it i will post my conclusions. Wish good luck to me
