Before you hold up your hands with horror....

I've read a lot about people using the car windscreen product Rain-X on their touch sensitive PDA's
Also I tested and used this on my Palm PDA (which had similar glass with plastic membraine) screen.

When you use the stylus on these screen there is a certain amount of friction that generates wear (moulding of plastic stylus against clear screen material)

However, applying Rain-X to the screen as directed, makes everything slip and glide lovely around like a sheet of ice.

As this is slipping so well it must reduce wear down to a minimum.
as I said I've used it on my palm a number of times, and after polishing with this product it's beautiful to use... lasts a few weeks before applying again.

Anyone tried it or any thoughts ?

This product is shit hot on car widscreens. I don't see why it would not work on anything else that needs a coating that is the glass equivalent to Teflon.

um why not just buy a screen protector and then u dont have to worry about reapplying the rainx every couple of weeks. screen protector last much longer and are reusable. i am currently using boxwave's. www.boxwave.com

Had a hunt about... People using it here about 1/3 the way down the screen.

Re Screen protectors.... Yeah, I know a lot of people use them, but like others I found you can get bubbles in them, and I really do like the look of a naked screen.
Plus Rain-x lasts years, only a tiny tiny bit (a drip) would need to be used to make any pda type screen super slippery smooth.

Note: I'm not recommending anyone to use this. Just saying I have in the past (and still do) on my palm, and have had no problems at all.
