Dear fellow Esato members,
Since my very first days as a mobile phone user, I have only owned Ericsson/Sony Ericsson models. I have used, played and tested other models as well so that I would be able to maintain a fair and balanced opinion on other manufacturers.
Lately I grew more and more discontent with the SE models and policy. None of the current models attract me, nor are they close to what Ericsson stood for: extremely intelligent and reliable phones (maybe not very user friendly but this was compensated by a richness of features the other manufacturers were unable to match). I was even considering purchasing the future 6230!
All changed when a friend of mine requested my help (details in
this thread). All of a sudden I realized there is plenty of room for worse. Well, yes, the keypad is a little better and they have EDGE (which nobody uses), integrated FM radio and speakerphone (oh, joy!) but besides that - you can’t get anything out of your phone (not even for example some pictures you took). And the menu is - how should I put this - hmh… the same (and not in a good way). And I’m only scratching the surface here…
Conclusion: SE is crap, but the others are even crappier. Guess I’m stuck with SE for a loooong time to come.

It all depends on what you compare with. I wouldn't say that
is crappy but would definatly say that the others are worse.

well, as for my opinion if u really want a phone which completely suit ya needs. try to earn as much as money u have and be damn rich and start ya own telecommunication device manufacturer.
and remember don't partner it with others to avoid opinion crush. so only u who hold the company and u who make all the decision.
by then u will have a not crapy phone and perfect for ya OWN!

SE phones are crapy.... few functions - lots of money
Ericsson phones were fine... lots of functions - moderate money
I was very dissapointed about the SE T300. It is so slow, wap browser suck compared to Openwave Browser, eg: if i go to another page from Bookmark than i can't go back to previous page; image bigger than 4kb don't display in the browser, it slowest compared to my R520, images grow on the phone, for eg: a 80kb gif taked 200kb space on the phone, and so on..
Ahh and see that Sagem is on the good way, they are release preety good phones. See Sagem myx5, myx6 , myv65. They support many images types - bmp, jpeg, png, gif- and sound formats - wav, midi, amr, imy, etc -... And SAGEM phones are cheapers than SE, and honest some of them are really cool
So.... E rulz - SE sucks

AFAIK there was no Ericsson phone that could match e.g. t610 featurewise. If your looking for features at least... design is a another thing

wasn't the T68 an ericsson phone? It wasn't until the T68i that it became a Sony Ericsson phone. The T68 came out about a month after Ericsson and Sony joined together but the T68 was certainly badged as Ericsson only.
The T68 had all the features that the T610 has, well except for the slightly higher resolution and more colours screen
