Java games work slow on the T610 for several reasons. Here's a few pf them in no particular order:

1. Java games require something called a 'run-time environment', or 'engine'. This is essentially a program, so whenever your T610 runs a java game, it is really running two programs: The runtime environment and the game itself. This makes your T610 work really hard!

2. The T610 is not very high-tech compared to your PC. It has a very basic processor (12MHz clock speed I think) and it's memory is very slow.

3. Java is a not very efficient programming language (compared to others like c++). It was designed to work on many different devices, PC's Apple Macs, Mobile Phones etc. and unfortunately a trade-off of this cross-platform compatibility is it's speed.

The only solution is to make sure that your T610 is updated with the latest firmware versions as they are released since the Java engine is one of the issues that appear to be improved with each firmware release.

I've missed out a lot of technical stuff here, if you want to know the full story, let us know

Also, check your firmware version! The lastest releases (R3C and R4...)significantly increase the speed of Java.

The java on t610 is slow compared to other phones like nokia. Even The cheap one is faster. They got a real java plattform and belive me t610 have a fast processor compared to other phones on its size. The mophun platform on t610 is werry fast. So it have to be a software isue that can be fixed in a firmware uppgrade but there is werry smal changes for that to happend cuz :se: have fixed The java in z1010 and wil try to sell that instead of The old t610. Other phones (e.g. T310) do not support Java. Only mophun.
Z1010 is not available. Java on T610 runs very poorly, so even if Z1010 supports Java, I assume it's not quite a challenge to make it work much better.

Still, engineers are not stupid, so I really can't believe they can make this Java support so bad without any fishy thing behind it. And this certainly is to promote Mophun.
Yet, Java apps are far more popular and wide spread than Mophun ones, so have to give in. (not give up Mophun, but make their Java support proper)
