I don’t like it and I don't want it!

Is there away of getting rid of the Vodafone animation during startup of the phone? I had a Panasonic GD87 as my last phone and when I found a way of deleting it from there. The default Panasonic one was better, and I guess Sony's would be as well!

Any software?

Thanks in Advance.........

For the P800 (possibly the same as P900...i dunno)

Install file manager on your pc, as i find this is better that the software you get with the phone.

On your C drive on the phone, open...

c:\sysdata

there should be 3 files,

startup.mp4
shutdown.mp4
popcorn.wav

If you delete these 3 files the phone will use the sony ericsson default startup screen, however you can replace the .mp4 with your own movies and sound. Once the phone is restarted it will of changed. (to delete these files, you may have to right click on the files, properties, and uncheck read only.

Hope this helps.

On the P900 the files are on the ROM (read only memory) which cannot be deleted or altered

The only way to get rid of them is to take the phone to a SE service centre and have the phones firmware flashed
