I was late for work yesterday morning... i set my alarm on my P900 to wake me up at 8am. I set up everything correctly and set it to happen in the next 24 hours etc..

I switched my phone off like i do everynight incase some random drunk phones me at 5 in the morning! I didnt wake up until 11.30am! my alarm didnt go off. After checking the manual it warns that the alarm will not work if the phone is switched of.

Why is this? How does this replace an alarm, who leaves their phone on all night???

Does anybody know if there is an application that can be installed that will allow u to set a time and the phone will play the alarm even when initally switched off?

I think i might have to go back to using my T68i for getting me up in the mornings!

Scott!

I cant help laughing (...and apperently spelling badly) when I heard your story. This happend to me to, if it was'nt for my trusting girlfriend I would to have been late.

I solved it by turning of the volume of the phone. Anotherway to do, is to give a silent signal to your drunk friends profile.

About the program...I've never heard of such a software.

Put you're phone to "Flight mode" and you're problems are gone!!!

This had this issue with the P800 aswell.

Cheers lads,

I think i will just put it in flight mode...why didnt i think of that!!!

Another quick question...

"is it ok to leave it charging in the cradle overnight because i dont want my battery to run down at all. I like to have a full charge at the start of each day!"

cheers

I have read counless posts over the year expressing confusion over the P800/P900's alarms, lots of people spot quickly that "Flight mode" is all about having PDA functions while the GSM aspects of the device are switched off.
Other people miss this completely, i think it should be clearer in the user manual as it does seem to cause confusion with lots of users.
People also fail to understand that while in flight mode, the phones batttery consumption is drastically reduced making flight mode a very atractive alternative to having the phone completely off as you still have the clock on display.

I compleatly missed this obvious solution. Can it be the smell och Champagne or that I have the same name as Luc Sky Walker (ok, almost the same name).

...and guys! have a great new year.

Because the purpose of flight mode is to turn off all radio-frequency transmitters. Bluetooth and GSM radio belong both to this category
