> P900 vs 7650 picture quality test
Bookmark topic
I've had my P900 about a week now so I thought it was time to compare the quality of the camera with that in my old Nokia 7650 to see which really takes the best pictures.
Here are my test results including a contact sheet of all pictures taken.
My conclusion is that the P900 wins hands down, particularly because of the greater flexibility in being able to take different sized images. The Nokia's pictures seemed a little soft and on my phone always had a slight blue tint. The P900's were sharper with better colour balance.
Do these results match other people's experience?
Cheers,
David.

From the CommuniCorder menu, select Preferences, then the last but one tab (looks like two nested squares). You have the option of:
640x480
320x240
160x120
each at either high, medium or low quality.

you#d think theyd put something liek that in the p900 internal help menyu or even in the instruction menu or even under preferances tab whilst in comunicordr mode.

It is in CommuniCorder prefs, are we using different versions? I have the latest Organizer firmware. The pixel size settings are also in the user guide on page 60.

It really can depend on the light conditions. Your tests show that the P900 is a crisper image...but check the first two pics in my thread...
First is with a P900 and second is with a 7650!!! much better!

I agree, lighting matters. That's why I took pics under the same conditions. I'd expect an indoor P900 shot to be inferior to a naturally lit 7650 shot every time. I think for any fair comparison tests the same subject should be taken under the same conditions. I'll try an indoor comparison next using the same subject.

Fair point i guess to truely xompare them like any scientific test it must be under the same conditions. I prefer the 7650 camera in general though even though i use a P800.
It would be interesting to see the comparison of the P800 and P900 seeing as there is no "official" difference in the cameras of the two.
