Lock?
You mean locking it for all use?
[edit] If you do, page 97 of your manual will direct you to 'settings' 'locks' 'telephone lock'
According to my manual, default code is 0000

I want to be able to lock it, so if someone picks it up they can use it. The locking feature I found in the manual was a code that you can place in the phone so that if someone turns it on they have to enter a code. But does not lock the keypad without turning off teh phone. Any ideas?
Cheers

just brings up "Unknown Application"
Thx anyway - guess I'll keep looking, with all the software out there you would think something this simple would be available, but I haven't had any luck yet.
Cheers

I have never encountered a clam shell with a keylock.
Keylocks are usually done to avoid inadvertedly making calls when the phone is in your pocket. that risk does not exist with clamshells, so I don't think there is a keylock.
That's why the password function (as pointed out above) exists, so ppl can NOT use your phone.

I understand - but it only prevents them from using their own SIM - Doesnt stop from using phone.

the only thing i can imagine that comes close to your need is call restriction. it won't allow anything to be called except the ones you specify. but it's a lot of hassle to 'lock' it everytime you put it down. and it doesn't prevent your 'friends' to mess with the phone itself.
just put a "Touch me and die" sign as a background and hope they get the idea.

I think what mrsnstv is looking for is keypad lock. I, too had been looking for it. I have to same reason as mrsnstv for wanting it.
I think what we are looking for is to prevent others from using the phone when they just pick it up from (say) the desk.
Right now, whenever anyone picks up the Z600, they can just open up the clamshell and starts using the phone. So, a keypad lock does makes it only a little bit harder for them to just start using it.
I was using the recent version of fMA and found that they had included a function to enable/disable the keypad. I tried it and it works on the Z600. Since then, I had been looking for the key sequence to enable/disable keypad lock.
Anyone know how to do it. How does the T610 keypad lock works. Maybe it could be the same.

with FMA, the Z600's keypad can be locked. if we can just find the key combination for this.
