I thought, since my brother and my other brother's girlfriend don't have BT, I could send them free photos via InfraRed. I don't have an MMS tariff so I'm reluctant to pay 40p per message!

Anyway, when I got the IR activated on our handsets and make sure they were in contact, I kept getting a failed message.

My brother has a Samsung E700 and my other brother's girlfriend has a Nokia 7250i. I thought IR transfer was simply that and didn't discriminate between different phone models.

IR works happily between my laptop and phone, so what's going on?

Does anyone have any suggestions about why this is happening, please?

Thank you for your help.

I've tried to send pictures and ringtunes to several kinds of phones through IR and I think SE is the only brand that supports that, unless the IR signals for sending pictures are different on the other brands...

In general SE phones are the only phones not crippling their IR.
