Just 1 question.

I needed fileman to move my ogg skins about into the right folder so did a hunt and found fileman to do the job which everyone says is free.

Does not look free to me, trial or buy the download said, so selected trial and it says xxx days left when I run it on my P900

Can anyone explain why everyone says it's free ?

There are 2 fileman apps
FileMan from symbianware which has a cost,
and fileman found on my-symbian which is freeware.
The freeware came along first and the symbianWares came along with Tracker 3.

Cheers for that info.
I did download something which was free called filemanager but that was bloody terrible
I then found fileman which is was way nicer (but cost)

I went to my-symbian like you said and did a search for fileman. Their system called up 1 match:

http://shop.my-symbian.com/PlatformSearch.jsp?
siteId=695&javaDevice=P800&jid=DDC1X232156X1B477F1FCB296XEE76FX&
platformId=4&txtSearch=fileman&optionId=1_4_2

And it's not the free one.

Do you have any links to the free good one ?

the free one is entitled qfileman, find it through a search at my-symbian, now with regards to fileman, it comes free with tracker 3 when you purchase it. just download it and input the same registration code as with tracker.

i use the file manager inside SMan.
SMan is a must have
save some space (and €) ...

its in an odd place and the 'do' button isn't obvious
but it works.

The thing about tracker is that all you have to do is delete the files it creates in c:\system\data folder. sw_tracker something.

Ahhh, qfileman.... Will take a look

Yes, I was aware of the tracker 3 with free bits deal.
Once I saw tracker 3 I fell in love, the ability to have such a custom designed screen, exactly set up as you wanted it, etc etc seems excellent, and was a must have till I read on these forums all the people who've reported uninstalling it due to batter drain.
Really, killed my enthusiasm for the product

not always true. i have used tracker from the very first version up until the latest one and have never ever experienced any battery problems. my p8 lasts between 2 to 4 days depending on usage.
