Boohoo, dropped my t610 and now there is a massive crack on the screen

Question is should I replace the broken silver casing with the blue one?

I know these cost ~£30 from Sony but can you get original covers cheaper elsewhere? (from UK)

Cheers

I think I've seen the odd original cover on eBay amongst all the 3rd party ones. Try looking on there if you haven't already.

Can you get original covers from the website then or do u need to contact them personally? Do they have the red ones too?
£30 is a bit steep though! Anyone else who knows where may supply them please help.

From what I've read a Sony Ericsson service centre will change the cover for you for £30 (silver, red, blue). I agree that this is way too expensive which is why I want to buy the cover and fit it myself.

Also I have no idea where my nearest service centre is! Will try to find one soon though as the new firmware is/is coming out soon.

Would that also mean they would keep the covers they take off?!! What if you wanna change back again for a while, that's a con!
We need help! Someone, pleeeaase.

(even though it's not my main phone! My girlfriend uses it mostly)

I have just bought an silver one off ebay to replace mine as it has dents etc in it. It says that it is original, so hopfully it will be, and not a cheap plastic immitation. It cost around £15 and includes the screwdriver to take off the old cover and screw the new one on. The cover is being posted from Hong Kong, and hopefully i should have it on monday or tuesday.

Have a look http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3375209755&ssPageName=MERC_VIClosedWinner the seller seems to think that the retail price is £60, which seems like a load of c**P to me. The same person has also got the red one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3374020738&ssPageName=MERC_VIClosedWinner which is a bit more expensive, and other colours like black, which are cheaper as they arn't original.

sorry to hear about that mate...
but my t610 is incredible resistent,i have often dropped it from reasonable heights (over 1.5m) to start with accidentally, but lately i do it to be a general prick and show people how great it is,you know:
-65k colour screen
-built in camera
-bluetooth
-and look how high i can drop it from...
up to now no probs
XD

Sorry to hear this. My t68, though old, is probably more resistant to such accidents. I have not only dropped it, not mentioning 1,5 meters, but it happened to fly across the room and land on extremely hard surfaces. There may have been some luck in it, but still, it surveved.

Lol, on the first day I got my T610, i had it connected to the charger on the floor. Well, as I was walking (well running) out of my room, i tripped on the charger cord sending the phone flying across the room. It hit a wooden drawer thing, bounced off it and hit a wall a metre away and somehow didnt even get scratched!!!!! That's SE quality for ya!
