> Sony Ericsson T68i - What does everyone think?
Bookmark topic
Hi to everyone,
I got my T68i on Thursday and was wondering how anyone who had one felt about it? What features do you like etc???
The big improvement (apart from the colour) that I have found is the ability to store more than one customer background.

I have been using my T68i for the past 3 weeks and it is great. I had a T68 prior to this and the basic user interface had many improvements. I is refreshing to see that the designers at Sony-Ericsson really looked into the defects from the T68 and improved on them.
One thing I've notice is the ability to hide some of the fields in the Contact records. For example, my mom does not work and I will not have a use for the "Company", "Work" and "Title" fields for her, so I've turned them off in her record.
What I need to do now is get the T68i's Bluetooth working my with Mac, Palm 505 and Clie NR70V.

Yes, the software updates are the single best part. I like the My Pictures and My Sounds functionality. Being able to name the ringtones and set caller id graphics. Heck I even like the new startup and shutdown graphics. This is what the T68m (Software wise) should have been at launch. It works better on reception for me and I can do GPRS with 2 bars (on my T68m - R1C it took 4-5 bars to get a GPRS connection and I practically had to be under a tower ehhe).
As for the physical differences....the blue light on the keypad and the capital letters by the numbers makes it easier for me to see when SMSing. The silver and blue silver looks cooler with the ICT-13 case but that is just my opinion. I would love an SE logo on the back side (the green ball thing) like the P800 is going to have.
This is the best thing I've used and is my stop gap phone between the T68m (I'm in the US and it is hard to get firmware upgraded) and the P800. I pretty much got it to have the new firmware without having to ship my phone off overseas. Now I can ship off the T68m to get updated and still have my T68i to use.

State of the art tech.We have,or will soon have(waiting 4 upgrade),a phone that is perfect. The next step will be a pda and phone in one.But t68 is the best mobile phone EVER and will be for a while.Couldnt have asked more...I am not sure p800 is a good buy since 3g will soon be here.I will wait and see.But my next phone will be SonyEricsson and that is for sure.

As written in another similar post ..
My opinion on the T68i (coming from a guy that uses it 6,000 minutes a month)? I think (and pretty much is fact) it is the most feature rich, tehnologically advanced phone in existance. And, I actually use most of the features.
Are there a few shortcomings? Sure ... is there another phone with anywhere near the features? Well, the forthcoming Sendo Z100 is a tempting close runner up, less the bluetooth (but will be a dongle add on), and the Nokia 7210 is behind that. I am sure the Sendo will lack the battery life of the SE, and I suppose the Nokia will too, from past excperience.
The speed on the T68i? Yes, there are some issues in packing so much stuff into ne little phone, and SE is working hard to equalize where the processor is best focused. They definitely shifted slight focus to speed up SMS in the newest (R2B) software. I am sure SE would like to produce the phone with a faster processor, but they have the T68i now as it stands, until they invest the R&D for the next model. Or, maybe, and I cannot say for sure, they balanced the excellent battery life, with the option of installing a faster processor, that might have diminished the battery life. Personally, I am happy to lose some speed for a better battery life.
The P800 should be the ultimiate in technology, and, personally, I can't wait!!
Anyway, just my 2c

I have a T68m, so I'm not sure if it's the same on the T68i, but you go to the Phone Book, then to Call from SIM, then highlight the name you want to delete and press C, then it will ask you to confirm the deletion.
Also, as for the main question. The T68i definitely surpasses the T68m feature-wise, but I still prefer my T68m because I think that the rubber back of the phone is very stylish and so is the screen part of the phone. I also don't like the colors the T68i comes in.
