This isnt just for p8/900 phones but would work best on them,

A TV Remote works on Infra Red
Most Mobiles Have Infra Red

Why has no-one made a remote control app for phones?

Imagine you p900 as a universal remote!

Is there some technical issue why this hasnt been done or has noone thought of it?

the infared beam are too week at least in px00.i tried the program and i dont find it very useful.

Mr. Holmes... you should do a little more detective work.

(hehehe sorry, couldn't help it) ... an IR remote has been done... it doesn't work that well though because mobile IR systems operate at much lower power than your average home remote...this is to save battery life and to conform to the IRDA standard.

yup you have to be pretty close to a device to change a program succesfuly, therefore its easier just to change the program on tv set !

Thanks for the reply.

i got the program you said and i had to be within a meter of the device for it to work, so it makes it pretty useless

looks like ill have to buy a proper universal remote
