Happy new year everybody...

well, i have a question regarding uploading pictures on t230...got no cable, irda or bluetooth, so the only way is by uploading pics over wap...and here is the problem...i uploaded pictures on esato(i selected the t300 phone, since t230 is not available)...i noticed that pictures became a little bit uglier(color reduction-should i choose another phone? t230 supports 4096 colors and t300 only 256 as far as i know)...well, then the real problem occured...i logged into that esato account on wap, tried to download the pics, and got back the message, that the content, received from the server was too large...why is that?

so, i uploaded the picture i used on esato to my account on sony ericsson site (my pictures gallery) on the same settings (t300 - t230 not available again) and the picture got even uglier...well, i could download that picture, but its very ugly(color reduction)...but as i download any other public available pictures from that site...well...they look very pretty...so, which phone should i specify (maybe t310?) to upload my pictures on those two sites? and in which format should they be? now they are 101*80 GIF images...i got written in the book that the phone supports JPG images as well...if thats true, how many colors shoud i use (24 bit)...

but since now, every picture i downloaded was a gif...and i wonder, how they managed them to look so pretty?

thanks in advance!

P.S.

Oh yeah, and i would ask the same for themes... (have Theme Pro TG now) ...which program to use, where to upload (how, since t230 is available nowhere)...

You should optimize your picture for phone use, reducing colour depth, increasing contrast, ..etc. .gif looks better because you can precisely control the colour depth, while .jpg, you can't really do that effectively. So maybe you should consider converting your pictures to .gif

Those WAP sites probably have some programs that manipulated your upload behind the scene to make it "suitable" for phone use.

you got the point, but the images i were uploading were in GIF format...and as far as i know, GIF images have only 256 colors, so why is that color reduction needed anyway?and images on SE site are so beautiful and colorful, how were they uploaded?
