hello,
After I got my new P900, I tried to connect it to my PC via SyncStation, but after installing the newest version of PC Suite for P900 (SE Website), I plugged the SyncStation onto the USB and eventually, had some errors with installing the SyncStation drivers from the disk (Automatic searching).
I have used the "PC Suite" CD and not the "Content and Application CD" for it.
Mean while, It gives me an error msg. that says "Please Insert the CD with the label 'SEMC DSS-20 SyncStation Driver Disk' and then press OK".
Although I don't have this kind of CD, I continued pressing OK, but it says all the time that it can't find some driver files, and actually, I cannot use the SyncStation (It only shows me the green/yellow light).
At "My P900", I'm only getting a "Not Connected" item.
BTW, I'm using WIN 98...
Please help me!
Thanx,
Ido.

What I would do first, is look for a firewall on your computer. If you have one, disconnect it and then try again. There could be some files that are missing in the PC Suite 2.1.1 on the Internet, but I would hardly susspect that the case is so. Though that is what you are suggesting when you are reffering to the file the program is looking for. Another soulution could be to reinstall it. If you had another version of Sync station in your computer I would suggest unistalling that first, before doing a new installment.
However, my biggest tip. is that the problem lies in a firewall. Do a search on this site, since this problem has been discussed many times and people have often found a soultion.
Good Luck

Well... I'm not using a FireWall...
BTW, I have tried to use the PC Suite with my Bluetooth Adaptor and I succeed in connecting to "My P900" (I mean, to the file explorer), but the most important thing is missing:
When I'm clicking on the "Phone Icon", on the PC's Task Bar (you know, near the time...), I can't get an access to "Backup and Restore" (gray option...).
When I'm getting to this via START->PROGRAMS->Sony Ericsson->P900->Backup and Restore, it enters to this, but I can't do nothing - all the options are in gray!
What is wrong?
Thanx again!
Ido.

Not trying to hi-jack the thread or anything, i have a problem with my sync-station as well.
I had a P800 a while back, but when I got rid of it, I uninstalled the sync software (but I dont think it uninstalled properly because the "My P800" Icon was still on my desktop and wouldnt delete).
I have since bought a P900 and installed the sync software that came with it. Problem is that its identifying my P900 as "My P800" when connected, which wouldnt be a problem by itself but there's something else as well.
Whenever I connect my P900 to the syncstation, the "New phone" wizard appears and I have to click "Replace my old phone" before it will recognise my p900 again. Its not a big thing, as everything works, but its getting annoying.
Any ideas on how to get it to recognise my phone properly, and stay recognised?

Have you followed the installation instructions if your operating system is Windows 98?
Go to Sony Ericsson Global support->Synchronization->PC Suite for P900 release 2.1.1 and choose your language.
Check also in the Control Panel->Phone Monitor options that the COM-port you have your sync-station connected to, is activated and booked. To find out which COM-port, look in Device Manager.

If you are using Win 98, you must find the correct folder on the CD that contaisn the Win ME and Win 98 drivers. Sorry I cannot remember at the moment the exact location, but try to find drivers for DSS-20 and then there a subfolder called something like 98_ME and then ask your installation program to find the drivers there. The installation progrman only tries to find XP drivers automatically, otherwise you must pinpoint the exact subfolder for the drivers.
That's how you should make it work for Win 98.
