I'm in the UK and using the 02 networks PAYG sim card (the one that gives you 300 free texts a month)

I am having probs getting Opera to work on my P900

I can get "on the web" as it were, with the built in web browser but it was incredibly slow (yes it was via gprs)

My question is this. Will I be able to browse the proper REAL web (using Opera), and do emailing and all that stuff on my 02 PAYG sim card ? (the 300 free texts a month one)

I was told in an 02 store the web only works on contract sims, but I can believe they don't know what they are talking about.

Can anyone who is using the 02 payg tarrif sim on their p900 and using opera succesfully confirm this please...

Many thanks

Bunny is correct you should have no problem using your Pay As You Go and opera! Emails too should be no problem.
I suggest you go to www.filesaveas.com to get easy instructions .on how to set up setting for email etc!

Good luck!

first thing to do is get to a connected PC and go to www.o2.co.uk and follow the instructions for getting the auto setup sms sent to your phone once you have it, run it, then go, control panel, internet accounts, advanced, edit, proxy and enter the settings i posted earlier. hope this helps.

Oh for jesus christ....... !!!!

Still can't get this to work.

Either nothing happens or I get activation rejected.

Not sure if I do need Proxy Settings, some say yes, some say no.

Not sure if I need password and username or not (don't have a password or user name)

Can't even find the place on the o2 site to send the details to your phone again arghhhhh !!!!

Well, after much fiddling and applying different settings I sort of got the internet working in Opera, but still feel it was via some wap thing....
or am I wrong and if opera IS working then it's not via a wap thing ?

Got really annoyed with the whole thing and wiped ALL the internet accounts off the P900 and got 02 to send me the two sms setups messages again.

In Internet settings now I just have 2 things.

1: o2 mms
2: o2 wap gprs

and that's it.
