hello

it is a usb msi bluetooth device.
the red light works when i connect but microsoft windows will not show the normal "new hardware" window.
everytime i try to install the bluetooth software after restarting the system i get a message that says that the btballoon.dll wast not found... what can i do?
i use microsoft windows 98 without internet explorer.

is there any other way to use bluetooth, i would still have to install the drivers...

bye

Maybe you can try to locate the file yourself and place it on the "system"/"system32" subfolder of the windows folder.

But my suggestion is:

-Unplug the device.
-Remove all references of the device (drivers, etc...)
-Restart Windows.
-Install MSI's bluetooth software.
-Restart Windows.
-Plug the dongle again, and windows should get the correct drivers automatically.

If this doesn't work...

btballoon.dll isn't that balloon text on windows xp when something happens like new hardware installed or received from a mobile phone through BT, you know those messages. I'm just saying this because they have the same name and could be a hint

Try to read the driver's documentation on how to install it.
Maybe there's something about Win98.

MSI says the driver is for Win98SE/ME/2000/XP.

[edit]
Just checked: btballoon.dll is packed in the drivers' package. So it's not a XP thing.
The drivers are probably not installed correctly.
Try following my previous post.

Bt works just fine from win98se upwards. Dongle means the physical device you connect to the USB port. Do your USB ports work normally?
