> installing programs on the ms duo

hi anybody tried installing all your programs on the memory stick duo THROUGH a Card Reader instead of the traditional syncing of the phone and installing it. I noticed that when you install programs on the ms duo through syncing with the phone, some datas are stored automatically on the phone memory eating some space on the phone memory. But if you install the programs through CARD Reader will the datas like registry code be stored on the ms duo itself or will it still be stored on the phone memory.

Which of the above phrases are questions?
If i understand it correctly, the data stored in the phone's memory is like registry data on windows. The OS needs to know settings, locations, etc, in order to run the applications.
So i don't advise you to install the programs through the card reader, do it using the cradle.

I have installed (on an N-gage of a friend) an application just coping it on the external memory.
For some applications, system don't need to have resident files on C:.
It depend by the type of appz, just browse your Smartphone ad you'll find it.
And when you remove appz remember to manually delete folders 'n' ini files!

I have loaded stacker, mgs karting, AED dictionary etc on to my MS dou using a card reader and then installing from the applications menu. Seems to work fine. I have to do it this way as I have an iMac and the pc suite from my P800 doesn't work on macs. The only other option is bluetooth. And I don't know if that will work ok!

folks!
I strongly do not suggest to install the application on the duo cards, mainly becouse the read access to this device is much slower than the access from the c drive of the pX00.
more, what if you have more than one duo??? you will have to install the apps onto each duo...
It's my humble opinion that you shoul install larger application like opera, and the games, onto the duo, but, all the tools you currently use it, like stacker, tracker, fileman, taskman, and the ntp client, must reside on the phone.
my current free space on the phone with the following apps installed and a selection of pictures and sound on C drive is the following:
P800 c: free space 7,81 free (with 900kb of pics and 1071kb of audio)
P900 c: free space 9,41 free (with 900kb of pics and 1071kb of audio)
Both phones have empty calendar, no emails, no MMs, no sms stored and 285kb of contacts.CDB
with an efficient use of the symbian OS, cleaning accurately some "not used" stuff, you can free up to 340kb more
both system are really working well with this configuration.
Please remember to compact the contacts database when you add new cards or move people in folders.
Regards

yes that's tru but if you have lots of applications you may make your phone memory crowded and I have calendar data, appointments, jotter files and MMS.
Has anyone tried installing it on their msduo through card reader
