Hi guys,
I've got a question about Oggplayer. I've done a search in the forum, and answered most of my questions about it, but there's one particular thing which I experienced which I'm not so sure about.
I installed Oggplayer v1.10 yesterday, and also copied some music files over which I converted from mp3s into oggs...using 64kbps and 32khz conversion...the sound quality of the files are pretty good, not brilliant, but good enough for a mobile mp3 player!
But, occasionally, whenever I start playing a song, it gets all distorted with noise in the background. The only way around this is to stop and start the song again, and it seems this effect is completely random - songs which played alright would suddenly have this problem the next time round, or songs which had this problem would be nice and clear when I stopped and started it again. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?
Cheers!!!

When this happens on my phone, it's usually caused by the other programs running in the background. Decoding ogg files needs alot of CPU power so you shouldn't run other CPU intensive sw at the same time. Such as camcoder and similar.. Also, lack of free memory could influence this.

Hi daloon,
I thought that might be the case, but I've tried by using SMan to stop all other applications (including itself). The problem still happens though! I wonder why...

Then i'm not sure but i'd try other (older) versions of oggplay and see if that helps. There is now also .ogg support in unrealplayer so if you can't make oggplayer work properly, that could be a solution..
