my guess would be something with æøå and the likes of those... but i can turn it on and off without anything changing (default was off i THINK)

This choice is something very important for us ,greek users,because it allows us to choose whether or not we want to use unicode encoding or not in composing sms.With the old software we were forced to write with greek T9 and because of the unicode ,we were able to use only 70 characters and not 160 in one sms.Therefore we should get charged for double sms if we wanted to write,lets say 150 characters.now,by choosing national characters we can write with greek T9 160 characters as all the other countries.(for example english).

r3a software??? never seen anything about that... latest "legacy" t68m software are r2d.. and the mms software/t68i software are r2b025... hehe i've read about the 70 char problem... great to hear there are a solution now

no onderf,only with the new software(with mms) R2B025 you will be able to use turkish T9 with 160 characters.one more reason all us to wait for the upgrade:)

I find it very narrow-minded by the persons who invented the
character sets that they did not foresee that the computer systems may be used in other countries and languages than US english, and the same goes with those who invented all the internet protocols. It is still very unlikely that an email reaches its destination if the address contains one or more national characters. In sweden, we have åäö, which are not a and o with some kind of accent, they are both pronounced and used differently. Still people that have these characters in their names are forced to deliberately misspell them if they want to use them as parts of the email address.
I can imagine that people from greece or people using the chyrillic alphabet experience this problem even more though. Not to mention all asian alphabets...
