hi i wish to buy a phone and have seen the camera quality of t610/z600 and they do not appear to be good. i want a sony ericsson phone which has a decent camera. so i wish to see the pictures from the t630s to make my decision since i feel all 3 phones are great. thx

T630 has the same resolution camera as the T610 and Z600 but it has a software option to increase the resolution by interpolation.

So the pics I'd like to see are the VGA ones done by this new software (or if mine turns up by end of next week I'll put some here)

bit of a dissapointment really, and says

"Want to look at your pictures on your computer screen? The T630 can automatically enlarge pictures to VGA size (480 x 640 pixels). Software included in the phone recalculates the picture size - without forgoing quality"

all I can say is pfffff!

I don't know why everybody is complaining about the pics, it's a phone, not a digicam you know. I don't use phone-camera for pics I want in big size. (except maybe once) If you want good quality pics buy a decent digicam.

I agree with you jumper though a person would probably expect that if you already buy a phone that has a camera that the camera itself wouldn't be shit but these obviously are.....

I still think that t39m is a good enough phone to use it with an ipaq or any other pda combo, BUT technology goes on and it seems that cameras are firmly in the future of mobile phones and therefore se should really build a decent camera phone.....

and one other thing quality digicams aren't small and people don't carry them around all the time and therefore mobile cameras are usefull..... for an example my dad has a canon eos 300d (which is an excellent digicam in my opinion) but he can't carry such a thing with him all the time and the other day he wanted to show me a pic that he took with his t610 of a burned down house and sadly i didn't see a difference between a burned house and a normal one.....

i must say i'm still a teenager but i don't use my p800 camera at all it's just too ugly to look at the pics.....

it's sad that things didn't improved much from the mca-20....

Just like to say that I totally agree. The idea of having a camera phone is so that you can capture those unexpected moments when you don't have your propper camera on you. At least, that's one of the ideas that the phone companies ram down your throat in their TV adverts.

It's happend to me several times now, I've been down my local pub, something funny happens and I try to get a picture of it to show the regulars who missed it.

No chance! The image quality of the T610's camera is so s**t that you just can't see what's going, it's not worth the cost of emailing or MMSing the pics to anyone. I've had one decent pic out of it, taken outside on a gloriously sunny day. Never had a half decent indoors pic even during the day.

I wouldn't mind, and I don't expect very high quality pics but as masseur said, push this particular feature of their phones so much that you would surely expect reasonable images once in a while?

I certainly wish that does something about our integrated cams, maybe thru a firmware upgrade. I have an MCA-25 and it takes better pics than the T610 and P800.
