I have had my P800 for 6 months now and it's been great. Usually my battery will last for 2-3 days of usage even with Bluetooth. However, yesterday after fully charging the phone I went to work (yes, I work on Saturdays).

When I left to go home I noticed that the battery was nearly dead. I tried to charge the battery in the car and it first it seemed to be working but then it stopped charging. I figured that maybe the charger died since I always keep it in the car and this being Arizona something probably melted inside the charger in the summer.

When I got home I tried again using the normal AC charger. The phone would turn on for a few seconds, appear to be charging and then turn back off, not it's usual charging behavior.

My questions are:
Is all this strange behavior due to a dead battery?
Do SE batteries usually die suddenly or do they gradually deplete?
Can the phone at least be used from the AC charger or does it NEED a battery to function?
Are there any service centers in or near Phoenix, AZ, USA that I can take my phone to in case the problem isn't fixed by the new battery that I ordered?

This happened to me a few months ago! I assumed that I left a app running ( such as camcorder ) as the fault never reoccured.

Check the SE web site for the nearest service centre

It might not b a battery fault. Other resons:the phone's connectors aren't ok or the AC charger has a short-circuit somewhere inside. Try this: plug the ac charger, remove battery, wait 5 seconds, put the battery back and see if it charges. If it does, it means that the charger is faulty. I know u have a desktop charger but try it anyway. U can go to any battery shop to measure ur battery to see if it still holds a charge and how worn-out it is.good luck! Ps:a battery doesnt just dies like that. This message was posted from a T610

This happened to me a few months ago as well. I left my phone in the staff room went to work for 4 hours came back and the battery had gone from 90 % to 0 %. At first l thought someone was messing around with my phone but same thing every day even when in my locker. Then my charger packed in a few weeks after.

I'm hoping that it is something as simple as the battery. I thought that it might have something to do with the charger so after checking that the charger I received with my old T68i was indeed the same charger (CST-13) I tried charging the phone with that charger instead. Same results as with the P800's charger.

I cleaned the contacts first with some canned air, then with some iKlear Screen cleaner (safe for most electronics) so far no luck.

The normal behavior is that both lights should light and remain lit when connected to AC power. Now, however, the Bluetooth and Service light blink as they do under normal operating conditions (i.e. - while not connected to AC power) when the phone is charging. It seems like it is charging but the battery life has gone from about 3 days to a few hours. I must charge the phone at least twice a day. The phone also seems to be running a bit warmer than it used to.

I have already ordered a new battery so I'll let everyone know if that solves the problem when it gets here.

I hope u'll have more luck cuz it might b the battery. That's the behaviour when it gets depleted. Did u check ur applications?Maybe u left some app runing. This message was posted from a T610
