Can t610 be used as a remote using some Java application...?
Like controling tv's,cd players and such...

I heard it's pretty useless. Cause even if there wa some kind of application for it, the range of the Ir on the phone is so limited, it would be futile to use it as a remote control.
That would be a pretty sweet concept though.

Btw how long is the range of ir port on SE phones? I read somewhere that people were using Nokias series 60 as remotes.So how long is IRDA range on Nokia phones?

Range is not a problem... We can use those IR range extender if there is a software for it....
