In the past week I have found it nearly impossible to SMS certain numbers on my P900. Everytime I try to send one to my girlfriend, for example, the message fails outright. I can maybe send an SMS to her once in ten times. It's not just her number either, its started doing it when I text my brother in law's mobile as well. Only seems to effect two or three numbers in my phonebook, the rest are fine which makes me think its a problem with the handset rather than the network, but any advice you guys could give me would be handy.

Any thoughts?

Just a quick question:

Does the mobile number begin with 07969?

My Orange P900 will sometimes refuse to send a particular text, but if you delete it and write it again it will send.

I was getting the same problem last night. Powered the phone off then on again and the Sms sent fine. Looks to me like it may be a bug in the firmware.

its not a problem with the p900 as such.

it just cant cope with messages sent from nokias (and other phones) when "reply via same center" (on the other phone) is enabled.

hope that makes sense

i had this issue too

simply ask the sender to change the settings

Have to say that MOST of the time it happens when replying to messages, but does also happen occassionally when writing fresh ones.

If its mostly when ur replying to messages it might have somethig to do with the "reply via same message centre number" on the phone if it has that feature. It should be under the sms settings/preferences. Change it to "no"

Hope that helps.

Hi,
There was a problem which I experienced similar to this. In fact, a problem I came across (besides this) was also that on writing a longer sms, the P900 decided that it spanned across 3 txt messages when it was only 2 messages long.
My solution to BOTH problems : copy the message and create a new message and paste what I wrote there.
Don't know why, must be a bug.
