I have the same problem as discribed here.
The phone is not connecting to the computer but is stuck in "Connecting" stage.
I have windows 98 me.
I have instaled the latest version of PC Suite (ver 2.1.1)
I have uninstalled the firewall s/w.
I have ensured that the Syncstation was not plugged-in while installing PC Suite (and only plugged-in to the USB after a reboot).
The USB I am using is not a USB hub
I have enabled the COM port selected by PC Suite using Control Panel/Phone Monitor
On the P900 Control Panel/Connections/Cable PC Link is selected.
Anyone who solved this problem?

Actually i had the same problem. It happend when I changed my e-mail settings in the sync.station. Take a look at yours and set it at no attachments... (i.e. tro to make it as easy as possible for the sync).
When I changed, it made it possible to connect.
Hope it helps

Twist the phone?
I'm using the cable, not IR, ig that is what you ment?
Here is another discussion on this common problem.
I have been on this for 3 days now and I start to think that the only thing left to try is to format the C drive and reinstall windows. But the problem is that I have all contacts in Outlook so it gets complicated.

the phone is new so I have no settings yet.
And for sync. station settings, if you ment what I find under Start/Programs/Sony Ericsson/P900/sync. station settings I can't enter there since I only get the message that there is no phone detecded and that I should connect and define a phone.

I had this problem for ages (W2K) and gave up and connect via Bluetooth instead of USB cable. Sync OK but no back up of course.
Then I took P800 for firmware upgrade, then back on cradle, miracle... now I can use USB cradle and PC can connect to it.

I had this problem, had no firewall programs going... and the only thing i did to solve it is uninstall I-Mesh.. I would download Ad-Aware freeware and get rid of all the adware in your computer then see.. i know it sounds weird.. but it worked for me..

I know I have junk on the computer because it tries to connect internet without reason all the time. The only thing of that kind I installed was Kazaa but I eliminated it later. I cant find other junk. I suppose if there is somethin I can't see it.
Today I started a new chapter of this story. I try to sync with IR.
I want to copy my contacts in Outlook to the phone.
First everythin seemed to work good. But since the phone memory was full the sync was interupted. Now I have copied all images on the phone to the computer so there should be memory for the contacts. But when I try to sync nothing happens. The text say "initialization" (in italian Inizializzazione in corso - I don't know exactly what the english version is) and nothing happens.

I use IR instead.
It does the same thing and it work good.
Thank you for trying to help me.
