Hi, this is my first post on Esato. Apologies if this has come up before, if so please direct me to the right place!

My girlfriend recently bought a second hand T68i for use with her UK Vodafone Pay as you Talk SIM. The phone was originally locked to T-Mobile, but had been unlocked by the previous owner.

The phone she had before was very basic, with no WAP, let alone GPRS or MMS, so I've been trying to get her set up with these things. The first problem, getting Vodafone to data-enable her SIM, was very easy.

The problem I'm having is actually configuring the phone. I can go to Vodafone's website, or Sony-Ericsson for that matter, and get it to send the settings over. The trouble is that these are deleted whenever the phone is turned off.

But this isn't the only problem. There are some existing WAP profiles remaining from the phone's previous existance on T-Mobile, named 'WAP CSD', 'MMS CSD' and 'PictureMessage'. No matter how many times I try and delete these, they always reappear when the phone is swtiched off.

I'm reluctant to do a master reset, as my girlfriend has customised many things on the phone already. Given that I can't delete these with the 'c' key, I'm not even sure a master reset would work. Can anybody help? Is this a common problem with T68is? It's certainly not something I came across on my old one (I'm now using a T610). Any assistance would be appreciated!

looks like you got a T-Mobile firmware (software embedded in hardware) in your T68i.

what you will need to do is have your phone reflashed in local authorized service points.

go to sonyericsson.com, configurating, choose the appropriate settings, when you recieve the profile save it... you cant delete a profile you can only overwrite it with another one, you can store upto 5!!!! you need v-fone gprs and v-f picture message(for mms), overwrite an existin one.... use them both once, then try turning off and on, it should still be there, if not you need to phone operator and get them to do it, alternativly take it to t-mobile/v-f store!!!! Hope this helps!!!
