I have been looking on ebay for some time for a good mobile phone with a great features in it. Also i wanted one with Bluetooth, so i can connect it up to my pc. I know the P800 has this, but i would like to know the following if possible
1) Does the p800 play MP3's, do i have to used a 3rd party software, if so are the mp3's lound, or quite, as in your have to put your head near it
2) I been readin something about video play back on a P800, or was it the P900. I not sure, could someone clear that up for me.
3) Video recording. isa it possible?
4) Camera quality, any good or should i go for a T610?
At the moment i have a t68i, and would like a good upgrade, so that is why i chose a P800

1) Yes! it plays mp3s with the preinstalled player. If you want to play oggs. you can get ogg vorbis player for free here:
http://www.geocities.com/p800tools/
2) Yes! you can play videos of the format mp4 and 3ggp on your p800 and on p900.
3) Yes it is possible to record video on the p800. There is two ways of doing this. 1. Find the cracked cam corder here on Esato (dont know were, but do a search and you will find), however there is no sound and only 11 sec recording. 2. Buy the full version of Philips Camcorder Pro here:
http://my-symbian.com/uiq/applications/applications.php?fldAuto=594&faq=4. It cost $30 and there is unlimited recording of 3ggp with sound.
4) The camera quality is amoung the best in the market. But if you get one I suggest you get your phone updated for the latest firmware, since it has some fixes for the camera.
Hope I could be to some help

Cool! Thank you very much, I think I will buy one... Just a few more questions..
1) You know the mp3 player, does it play through a loud speaker? or not
2) What is quaility of the picture taken, like does anyone know the pixals or the size, because i know if i take a picture with my t68i phone it really small when i upload to the computer. So hwo big are the pictures on the P800, the same size as the screen?
3) Have read about people playing movies on their P800 on a flight to somewhere, is this possible? and is it hard to do?
4) Can i use a MP3 as a ringtone?
I am really thinking about buying one now, that you very much

1) Yes, the P800 plays MP3s by default... there's a better player available from a 3rd party though called Unreal Player... but you don't need it to play MP3s, it just looks better.
2) Yes the P800 can play back videos... choppy when viewed full screen though.
3) Video recording possible, but only limited to 15 seconds max, even with the full version of the stupid Philips Camcorder... unlimited recording available only on the Nokia version... stupid Philips shouldn't charge $30 for a 15sec video recording piece of $#!+
4) Camera is 640x480 same as the MCA cameras for the T68i, 4x better than the one on the T610. Thing is, these cams are really just for mobile messaging. Don't expect digi-cam quality.
The P800 is a very decent phone...I'm very happy with mine, but if I didn't own a P800, I'd go straight for the P900 since the screen is better, and it offers unlimited video recording.

Here are my thoughts:
1) You can play it through the loudspeaker and via a headset that you get with it. Whatever you prefer depending on where you are.
2) see the prev. post
3) It'll require a quite heavy pc as you'll have to rip dvd's, then convert them to mp4 and you have to buy a 128MB memorystick duo which'll set you back approx. an extra $85 depending on where you live. And you better have some spare time on your hands.
4) Only in the p900 i think but i'm not even sure about that.
My advice; get a p900, unless you really don't have the money or you just think it's ugly compared to the p800.

- The only way to play your mp3 files as ringtones on a P800 is to convert them to WAV files. The P900 is able to use mp3's as ringtones without convesion.
- P800 and P900 have flight mode option which turns off the phones cellular capabilities and is to be used as a pda making its "safe" for air travel. I have watched movies and shows on long trips and find the battery to last 3-4 hours while watching videos the whole time.
- Cameras highest quality is 640x480 if you do a search im sure you can find some posts of pictures taken from the P800.
