> Major T610 Problem - Egg-Timer Screen
Bookmark topic
Searched for this problem on here, but thought i'd try a message of my own:
Whilst using WAP, a screen appeared with only an egg-timer symbol in the centre. It now constantly switches between a blank screen (as if turned off) and this egg-timer screen. Has now stayed like that for about 12 hours. The On/Off button is not responsive, and the only way i can turn the phone off is by removing the battery. The first time i did that i assumed that when i turned it back on it would be reset, but it returned to the very annoying egg-timer screen.
Anyone know any solutions other than taking it in to a Sony Centre?
Cheers.

Looks like my only option i guess.
Yeh i only got the phone about 2 months ago so must still be under warranty. Also have insurance in my O2 contract, but I want to see if i can get it fixed quickly first.
Have seen similar problems elsewhere on this board, but the common solution (ie. take out the battery, put it back in and it's sorted) doesn't work.
Bloody annoying.

My T610 did the exact same thing when on WAP and it just turned itself on and off with just the egg-timer & blank screen.
I'm afraid it is dead!
I could do nothing so took it to a SE Service Centre, they could do nothing and sent it to their HQ. I was without it for about 8-10 weeks and bought a P800 while waiting!!
They eventually admitted defeat & I got a new one.
If I were u I'd tell them u know someone elses that did it & it was not fixable and u want it replaced. Otherwise u'll have no phone for a looooong time!!

When my z600 jams (and i must add, not very often) i take the battery out, and stick it bak in again and turn it on and that egg-timer comes on my screen, as it does urs, if u wait for a short moment, ur fone should come on, and u should be able to key in ur pin number (if u hav that activated), if this still doesnt work, its screwed

Are you talking about the hour glass after you remove the battery, or is this an 'egg'-shaped timer ???

@ andrew
believe me this won't work I tried EVERYTHING with mine. Battery out, press all the buttons, hold the buttons, put on charge, left it off over night, left it on over night and so on, it just wouldn't reset.
@ dantec
isn't an hourglass the same thing as an egg-timer? U know a timer lasting 3min while u boil an egg

It's a firmware problem. Memory leak or something.
