> Hacking into wasted P800
Bookmark topic
A few days ago, my friend dropped his P800 down the stairs and the following nice-ish thing happened:
http://www.bargainserver.net/p800waste.jpg
Sad. Well, now to the point. According to servicepoint it couldn't be repaired either.
I made an agreement with him to try and grab out all the information he has in it. (badly wants it for his new P900).
Phone can be turned on, the display layer of the screen is not damaged. Only the touchscreen/protection layer is, and here's where the problems arise.
The phone is locked and I have the unlock code handy. But needless to say, I cannot enter it for an OBVIOUS reason.
Is there some way I can remote control the P800 to unlock the phone, and after this synchronize it?
Or perhaps it's the easiest to blow the lock, so that it doesn't display a code request?
Well, you know all these things better than me. I need the information grabbed out somehow - and I have a data cable.
Thanks!

This may not work, but it might...
I own a T68i at the moment and I am a programmer, one day i messing on with it, and came across bluetooth, bought a usb bluetooth, connected it up and it was a programmers heaven. The T68i has basic commands build it etc. and these can be accessed via HyperTerminal in windows. I came across a guide to all the AT commands, and i know there is a one for keypress, so there should be one for P800 to, if not the same command. Here is how to do it
1) Link your phone with your datacable/bluetooth/IR/etc.
2) Find what COM part your phone is connected to, if you can't find out your going to have try each one
3) Open Hyper Terminal, connected to the COM port (or try all, one by one)
4) Type in the hyper terminal "ATZ", if you get a reply "XXXX OK" (XXX's being your model no) then your phone is connected and ready
5) now type in the command "AT+CKPD=1234567890" that shoudl tell your phone to press "1234567890"
Well that should work, and from this you can end the sequence of keys, sorry I don't know any other the special keys on a P800, because i don't own one, just a T68i. But search on google for the AT Command Documentation for the P800
Hope that helps

If the P800 screen doesnt work..whats the best way to make the P800 work...well mimic it! Use Remote P800 and navigate the phone through the PC! Then you can backup the details or sned them BT to the P900 ur mate is using.
All you have to use the P800 screen for is to tap it once to recieve the Remote P800.sis file from your pc to install it. The rest can be done with the jog dial!!!!
Oh yeah baby!!!

Guess my good fellow and instincts. Use a working P800 next...or even better still use your mates P900 he just bought...the layou of pop-up windows is near identical on both.

I just checked the original post and it would seem that the touch sensitive part is the bit that's shagged! So jog city it is then!

Basicall depending on how many apps they have loaded they can count the no of clicks it takes to get down to the remote P800 program to open it....thats all they have to do...the rest is done through the pc.

I cannot communicate with the phone. are you supposed to be able to connect to it, even if you haven't entered a phone U/L code? (that's what I need to do but cannot due to the broken touchscreen!)
