(Search didn't work)

I always thought the 'Hacked Camcorder' for P800 had no sound capabilities, even in playback of other vids.
For most of my files this is true but I have found 3vids that play WITH SOUND in the Camcorder.
They are
-The South Park Song
-The Yeti Dance
-The guy pretendin to be electrocuted in front of his mate.

How come these have sound.

Also some files play in Camcorder but no sound but when I try them in P800s 'Videos' they say 'dimensions too large' and cannot play.

Can someone help with these issues or do u know of another thread that contains the answers?

Thanks, Mik

the philips camcoder player can only playback sound if the video has been encoded using the AAC sound format. some .mp4s that you find have been encoded using this process, thus why you can hear sound with some of them. .3gpp files, i think, automatically are encoded using this format.

Sorry mate, don't have a answer on your question, but just wanted to ask another thing.

Does the Philips Camcorder work on " no limit " now when you buy it or is it the same problem as before? That " PRO " is just for N***A's ???

Thinking of buying it...

ryanmachin is right,
but to me you're just lucky you have some mp4's that play sound in philips camcoder, cuz the image quality is far superior to packetvid-player.
I'm stuck with the betaversion (no sound whatsoever) as my trailversion expired
So basically, in camcoder 3gp plays with sound, mp4 doesn't.
But yeah, does anyone know if p800 can have unlimited recording time one the "purchased" product?
P900 just way to expensive for this broke student... lol

edit: wait a minute mikLSP, you have the hacked betaversion playing sound? its not the trailversion you have?

The phillips camcoder will only playback audio that has been converted using AMR audio compression which will then give you a .3gp file

The .mp4 files that you see are converted using AAC audio compression which will not play in the camcoder

The pvplayer that comes with the P800/P900 plays both .3gp and .mp4 files

There are NUMEROUS threads about this subject heres one which should answer your questions
