Hi
I really want rid of the O2 firmware, to have it overwritten with the generic UK firmware.
I believe carphonewarehouse is the company who is the official service centre in the UK, but they're completely useless.
Most times if I phone they say they cant do P900's yet, but once I was told they can do it in a couple of weeks time however they wouldn't be allowed/able to put a non-o2 firmware on.
Has anyone managed to do what I want? I'm sure i've read other people have....

shit i was just about to order an o2 p900 but i was under the impression that they were unbranded. is there any preference between the o2 and orange firmware?

they arn't branded O2 physically, nor are they locked
but there is an o2 logo on startup and the firmware distrobution is never updated ("and never will be" -- my guess)

sure i can use the online updater, but it just downloads the original O2 release for me (how nice of it...) which of course has never been updated and probably never will be.
we know sony ericsson have made new versions of firmware but noones got around to sticking the O2 pictures on it.

i'm sure when there is that an updated O2 fw will also be released!
slightly off topic: when i see pics of the P900 (like on my box!) it has that grey/green theme. any1 know where i can get it from?
