Whatever happened to SE's plans to let us update the firmware on our phones via the internet by ourselves??? I remember that some SE puke mentioned that we would be able to do it by Christmas last year.
Sux that we have to PAY to have our aging phone's software updated. I don't mind if those updates are at least only once a year max.....but when these firmware updates are every few months or weeks.....it becomes ridiculous!
Ok ok, I don't update my phone whenever a new update is available...and it works ok as it is.....but if there are some minor imporvements or bug fixes, why should we have to pay for updates just because the warranty period is over? Can't wait to be able to do it myself!

I do hope you have a P900 my friend coz so far that's the onl;y phone for which it is possible.
It will not happen for any other existing models, althouigh I myself do expect it for newer models, the P models for sure, but others will follow in due time.

Er, does that mean that I wont be able to update the T610? I got two of those! Sheesh..... I can understand if they don't update discontinued models...but at least let us update the current models!
I watched them do it once in Dubai to my old T68 once. was upgrading to T68i firmware....all the guy did was connect the cable, go online, login, follow instructions (which included choosing the model, etc) and wait for software to flash memory....the shop didn't even have DSL! only dialup speeds! How hard can it be??!! Just make everyone reads the disclaimer (in case they screw it up)....and charge twice what they are charging now to fix if people mess up their phones!.....They could even try to charge for the first update via paid membership to the update website!...then free regular updates!
Grrrr.....if the dumbass who serviced me could do it (idiot tried to look for the cable for a BT headset I wanted to buy- he never heared of BT), how hard can it be? Just a question of having the right interface eh?

Yez that mean that you cant update your t610 at home and p900 is the only

that suport firmware upgrades at home without that sort of cable they use at the service centres.

It's not a standard data cable, and the online software update is specifically a feature of the P900. It was never mentioned for all SE phones.
