> Hidden syncronization feature??
Bookmark topic
Hi!
When digging around in my p900 I found a program named "Remote Syncronization".
And as I can see this is for Syncronising email, calender, notes and contacts from remote.
Great!
But...
For each object that you want to sync you must enter a "Server database" name... And I wonder how to find what the DB-name is on my Exchangeserver inbox.
Has anyone used this and know how to do?
Regards, Magnus

hehe.. well. hidden feature for me that skipped this chapter..
Anyway. I checked the manual and there is not much info on this.
Anyone who knows where to find info on how to set up a syncronisation-server etc. in order to be able to sync when outside the office?

I've never used a service like that either.
I have trouble trusting others and certainly would not give up all my personal contacts and other details to a web site like that.

Well I found something.
Extendsystems.com have got a software that you run on a machine in your network. This machine becomes a gate between you phone and the exchange (or other) server. And with online access you can now sync your mobile from anywhere outside the office..
With your own gate you dont need to hav your info on any official website like the on mentioned above.
Cool.
Must download and try this at once.

Been using mobical for about a month now, very good and very quick, the web interface is adequate.
Eventually I'll change to MIS (Microsoft Mobile Information Server) running on Exchange 2003 with OWA (Outlook Web Access) enabled, this will enable me to fully syncronise with all aspects of outlook, public and private address books. I just now have to get my arse in gear and configure it on the work server. Mmmm Live testing

It's big money though!
We looked at it for work, and scrapped the idea because it cost too much
At the moment I backup (in addition to syncing locally) my contacts by using the "Send this folder" option, and then FTP'ing the all.vcf to my website. I've got some basic ASP script that lists files, so I have a very simple mini-site that I can use to recover my phone if it gets drowned or stolen etc.
It's cheap and (fairly) easy
