> T230 phonebook synchronization w PC ?
Bookmark topic
Hi all,
I'm getting to bye a new T230 to replace my old T39m
But I have to make sure that T230 can synchronyze it's phone book with PC over serial cable like T39 does.
I haven't found any synchonization software for T230 at SonyEricsson support page
Can anyboby tell me T230 CAN or CAN NOT do synchronization ???
(and whether can I use that phone as a GPRS modem for accessing the Internet?)

Here is the T230 global support page and since there is no synchronisation program to download I would say you cannot.
there is also no modem driver to download there
also looking at the
T230 product page I don#t see any mention of being able to use the phone to dial out
This really is a basic phone

If you are planning to buy a phone in this category why don't you try a T310 it has all the features you mentioned

Agree with Rohan. The T230 is like a T310 without IR, sync and with limited connectivity.

I agree to. The T300 or T310 has far better connectivity

Thanks for your comments.
T310 is a nice phone (especially in features/price),
but I personally do prefer some thing with flat front cover and rectangular shape like T230.
I've found at clubsonyericsson.com T230 descriptions.
Synchronyzation had been listed there in feature list ?!?

Or you can do like me, call your SE-customer care center and tell them to put in sync and mms in next software upgrade

Received the answer from imobile.com.au help desk:
Dr.Mobile : Hi there, The Sony Ericsson Desk Stand DSS-20 (or CDS-11), or a serial/USB data-cable (DSR-11, DCU-10, DCU-11)and will be able to Synchronize your new T230 with your PC or Laptop. You also shouldn't have a problem using it as a modem over GPRS when connected to your phone. Hope this helps, Dr.Mobile

You can certainly use the T230 as a modem. Just use any recent model SE modem driver file.
As for sync, you can't. Hoewever, you can SEND contacts in .vcf format to the phone (export from Outlook Express).
Christersson's "phonebackup" MAY be able to back up the phone book entries onto a PC.
