I recently found some auctions on eBay claiming to bid for a link where one can purchase a P900 for $36 USD (20 pounds) from a UK Website... has anyone heard of this, Here's a link to one such auction!

Its a bit of a scam. What they sell you as stated clearly in this auction (unusual) and if you read the small print in a lot of similar auctions is a link to a web site. On this site they put you on a list to get a p900 for 20quid depending on how many other people also pay their 20 quid and sign up to the list after you.
IE 1st person on the list gets it after 25 ppl sign up, next person after the next 25, 3rd after a further 25 etc. So by this point there are so many people on the list that the ones any length down have no chance of getting a phone as it would take several hundred people to sign up before it was their turn.
So if you are first on the list its fine as chances are you may get enough signing up for you to get your phone, but if you are not then you dont stand a chance unless you are prepared to wait 3000 years...
There are a ton of similar sites around,
http://www.themobilematrix.com is one that springs to mind (there you go someone on ebay would prob have sold you that!). If i were you i would never go into an ebay auction for information as you can usually get the info for free from other places.
I have seen people bid these info auctions up to over 100quid, so i really hope for their sake they figure it out before they pay this amount for a simple www address!

I can't believe some people havn't heard of pyramid sellin, tthose sites are for people who are bad at maths & don't mind giving £20 to some theives who will buy a nice phone (or car) with your money.
To get a P900 you would have to find hundreds of other gullable people to pay £20 to the site & mention you when they do it & also even if you got a p900 you would have to answer them as to why they didn't get theirs, its a VERY VERY old scam in new clothing.
I think pyramid selling is illegal in some countries.

I really wish eBay would ban pyramid schemes from their auction site, there just seems to be more and more of them appearing and I find them irritating, I don't like to think that people out there are being taken for a ride with these.

..... and I had to laugh at your inability to detect sarcasm. The 'ffs' at the end might have been a slight hint
