Just right before I received a SMS yesterday w/ my headset on, I heard a strange female voice "halu halu"!!! I was shocked. I thought that was strange, so I took my girlfriend's phone and SMS my T68i again. Strange enough, that female voice "halu halu" came up again!

Then today when I called my brother (T39m), just when he picked up his phone, I heard that "halu halu" sound again. The phone was connected to him, but I can't hear him (he can't hear me either). But I called him again, that sound didn't come again. Later today, I called my girlfriend, I heard that "halu halu" voice again. Just like the last time, I need to call her again.

Has anyone heard about this thing before for T68i??? At first, I thought that was the way T68i reminding of a new SMS comes just like the way you set the voice command thing for your contact. But now I am hearing that (even w/out the headset) when I dialed out. Any suggestions???

The funny thing is the both mine and my girlfriend's T68i have this same thing. My firmware is R2B025 and hers is R2A015.

I just tested a few more times and it seems that whenever a SMS comes to T68i, that "halu halu" sound will come up. I realized that it sounds like the SMS alert but with a female voice instead. I will still hear the SMS alert on the phone but I also hear "halu halu" voice in the headset. But when the headset is removed (original Ericsson headset), "halu halu" can't be heard. It is almost like the new feature that T68i has. If you have voice command for a specific person's name, when he calls you will hear your own recording of that command.

Oh well, I guess there's nothing wrong about it. I am kind of use to it....I am just surprised that it only happens to out phone. Did anyone actually tried to receive a SMS message w/ their headset?

Hehe...posessed phone. Other people already suggested that to me. I thought it was for a second....but then it appears on both T68i with different firmware so I assume it was meant to be there.

I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with the melody because I tested that already. I tried my own melody and the original melody and nothing changed.

Can someone please try to receive a SMS message w/ your headset.....I am very sure you will hear that "halu halu" voice.....or maybe my headset is hunted????

Hey m8, maybe that "halu halu" you are hearing is just the double beep for the messages! The headset you are using cannot give the same sound as the phone itself! So the trmbles are distorted! I had the same problem with my nokia phones; when connected to the headset, the sound was distorted, when the phone rang or beeped! It's just that the headset is not a ringer! So don't worry about it!

I think you are right. It just sounds strange when I first heard it. I almost jumped out of my chair! I guess it is just the phone try to imitate the SMS alert.

I use "Ericsson Portable Handsfree w/ answering button HPB-10". A nice handsfree to use.
