I have looked elsewhere on the forum for advice, but no luck. The specific problems I am facing are as follows. My PC recognises my T68 (through Mobile Phone Monitor). However, whenever I use the Phonebook & SMS Manager, I can view my T68 contacts on the Manager, but if I make any changes to any contacts in the Manager, I cannot then send the changes to my T68 as a message comes up saying either "slow synchronisation unsuccesful" or "fast synchronisation unsuccesful". All along Mobile Phone Monitor still recognises my phone as being connected. I then tried to sync my contacts with Outlook using XTND Connect, which has a plug-in installed within Outlook. With that, same problem, Outlook seems to "lose" connection with the phone. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the relevant software. No luck. I have also uninstalled MS Activesync (I have an Ipaq 3870) to make sure there is no port clash. No luck. Now, the odd thing is that the same problem occurs with all three of my computers (one work PC, one house PC and my laptop). The PCs both run Win 98. The laptop runs Win ME. I'm pulling my hair out. I can't understand what's going on. All the above is through cable. However, I have tried the same with an IR sync between my laptop and T68. Same thing again. Yet the phone is recognised, connected, and I can send and receive pictures. Any ideas / advice will be much appreciated.

Do you set your phone in Syncronisation-mode? If you just turn on the IR, your computer will recognize your phone, but not sync. with Outlook. (Communication -> Syncronisation -> Sync w/IR.)

I almost encountered the same problem as u, the Phone Book Text Message Manager can work perfectly with my T39mc and T68mc, but not T68i, Synchronization complete but the contact list is empty, however the XTND is ok, check out the file ecsmca.xml in the install diretcory of the software, u can find out that all the contacts are in the file, but the XML tags and elements are not the same as the normal working one. Puzzled.
Now i have to use XTND to manage phone book and use floAt's Mobile Agent to send SMS however the MobileAgent does not support chinese/unicode phone book contacts.
In fact, we have a lot of options of using software to play with T68i, here is a list of my T68i software:
