Hi Guys,
i was wondering if anyone here knows any tips or tricks to get ericsson phones working with the Blutooth telephone system being offered in the latest Lexus (specifically the LX470). It seems to be an integrated version of the nokia bluetooth carkit (dealer says it is for the nokia 6310)
So far i know it works with the Nokia 6310 and the ericsson T610 though my P800 didn't work (you set the car to discoverable, pair with the phone, the phone pairs but the car just sits there waiting for some sort of signal)..
I know in the settings there seem to be different profiles you can select (headphone, car phone, wireless hands free etc.. not to sure on the exact names as i don't have the car yet) but this didn't seem to make much difference other than just change the name of the profile..
anyone got any insight or tips? i would assume it would be similar to the nokia bluetooth carkit in it's compatibility.. will upgrading to the P900 help?

OK as you already probably know, The BT carkit supposed to work with ALL the BT phones. so you might consider upgrading your P800 firmware, this is the only option I could think of if it doesnt pair with your Cars BT carkit. Of course if you can afford this kind of a car, you might also want to consider upgrading to P900....

If it is the Nokia kit, you're doing better than me. I use that carkit (as installed by my company) and although it's great with Nokia phones it doesn't work properly with any of the SE phones I have, including the T610, which connects but has so much echo it's unusable.
I have read on this forum that the P800 doesn't support the "handsfree" profile, and connects to a carkit using the "headset" profile. Perhaps one of the P800 users can confirm this. If that's the case it means you've probably got no chance whatsoever I'm afraid, because the Nokia carkit doesn't support the "headset" profile.
Having spent many fruitless hours trying to get my SE phones to work with this kit I can sympathise with you! Good luck.
