Hey,

Just found out about a new streetmap service available for T-Mobile subscribers in the UK. You can get a map sent (by wap push I think) to your phone of where you currently are or search for a postcode. To get a map of where you are send the word "map" to 627. I think its only really any good on phones with decent screens like the p800.

Dead neat I think, its about time something like this was offered

O2 also have one on their site. Put in your start and end and it gives you turn by turn directions in text or with maps. And 3 offer a huge real map service. This message was posted from a T300

Fair nuff Boss but does the 02 service actually locate you?

Just worked out that to search for places you send something like "find ct5 3jd" or "find newmarket".

No, you need to put a postcode or streetname in. And it costs 10p a go too i think. No idea how the 3 one works though. This message was posted from a T300

Here in Sweden we have a pretty nice map service too.

Go to wap.eniro.se and try "kartor" (Eng: maps, it is the bottom link).

You just enter street name and number, and the city, and you will be directed to a wap-page with the map.

The really nice feature is that you can zoom and pan!

For instance, try:

Gatunamn:
Vasagatan

Gatunr:
1

Postort/Kommun:
Stockholm

Orange offer a map for their "Find nearest" service on WAP. It's only available on T610 and certain other phones.
