is it possible to maye cost savings by using gprs to send sms? how can you do this if you can

no, gprs is a connection method, you used to be able to send sms via the icq network but then they stopped it, if you can find another serive that offers it, then yes

i used it when i had my t68i on orange only advantage i found was if i had no signal the msg still went through,not sure if it really goes via gprs others have said not so maybe
if you select it on the t610 your msgs just dont send (well mine dont)
i take that back they do now go instantly no waiting but i am not sure as i said about if they are using gprs or if they just appear quicker

Yes you can. Find out which provider they're on and go to (service provider).com and send an sms thru there. Unfortunately, sometimes it's limited to sending only 10 or so. Or you can try messagingyou.com. For US providers only. But you must then often click on banners to earn credits. Otherwise it's great free sms.
