Hi all

I know the subject is a bit of a mouthful so let me explain. I am staying in a hotel in the lovely city of Plymouth as my company, in their all-knowing wisdom, have decided this is the best way for me to get a 'hands-on' feel to the way they work (by me working with the customer).

Anyways, you prob don't want me to go on about that, so onto the problem:

I have the ability to access WAP/Internet on my mobile phone throughout the day which is all well and good. However, I was wondering, is it possible to take the dial-up connection that my phone has to the internet and share my laptop with it ? Now, I realise that the speed of my laptop on the internet will be excruciatingly slow, but beggars cannot be choosers, and I am certainly one of those right now.

The way I see it, the phone is already connected to the net via the dial-up. All I need to do is to configure my laptop to be able to access the internet through the P800's connection. The laptop has an infra-red link.

Please please please can someone tell me how they do this ? Surely there is someone else out there as desperate as I am to connect to the internet ?

(I am using Windows XP)

Thanking you kindly for any light you can shed on my turmoil.

you cannot use a wap data account from a pc through your phone, you need a full GPRS internet data account which is something separate. if you are one O2 payg then I'm not sure if that is available to you though others may correct me.

here is a recent thread mentioning this.

if you are able to get the full GPRS internet data account activated then reply here and I will continue with the instructions, or do a search because I have replied to this type of question many times with the details neccessary

Hi

I will get the GPRS activitated although I do have the PAYG account too.

What are the instructions for setting it up on my PC ? (i've tried searching for it but no joy)

If you don't want to write it out again, just point me in the right direction please.

Thanking you kindly.
