Hey there
Has anyone seen this problem.
Z600 email.
Set to download headers.
Check interval 5 mins.
Ok phone checks email works fine no problems.
Then you receive a message.
Mark it for deletion.
Either do a send/receive or wait until it does.
From now on every five minutes it will beep as though it has a new message. show new message briefly on the small display when closed. then disappear. when you check emai inbox folder there is no folder.
The email account has no email and is dedicated to z600 cellphone.
If you do happen to get a real message subsequently it will beep. say new message on small screen and then leave an icon indicating new email message until you open the phone, which is normal. problem is it continually indicating there is a new message every five minutes when there is not.
I have also telneted to pop server to check and there is no email!!
thanks in Advance.
Andrew.

U gotta disable it and it won't bother u. The wrong report about new mail has smtng to do with the email server. Read the link Masseur provided.

The link that was posted wasn't particularly helpful. No reason why it does not work or a possible workaround? Only leave it turned off for checking and chedk it manually. The point with having email access and interval set is that it will check regularly for you so there is nothing to do. If there is no email then you get no advicement. If there is then you get a "new message" message. If it worked like it was supposed to then it would be all great!!
Does anyone have this problem and found a workaround? Perhaps it's an incompatibility with a certain type or flavour of mailserver? not confirming correctly to pop3 rfc?
