> Finding a name behind a UK Voda number!
Bookmark topic
I have a couple of sms in my inbox and I donæt know WHO FROM. It's a UK Voda number (because when I called I was directed to Voda Voicemail). I live in Norway and I really need to find out who's been sending me these messages......

This might sound a bit stupid but have you tried texting back and asking?

That would be my first thought. Then if you do not get a reply or anything, just ignore it? It could be a case of a simple wrong number (this happens quite often)

If you really want to know who the number belongs to I suppose you could try ringing voda customer service. But, firstly it may be a pay and go phone which hasn't been registered thus voda wouldn't have their name and secondly if it is a contract phone I doubt voda will just give out peoples names to any one who rings in. I'm geussing it would be thier policy not to, or I would at least hope it was their policy not to...

they will not. At least in my terms it says Voda will never give out 'privacy sensitive information' and I dare say such a request is privacy sensitive.
I wonder why this is so important though. I have on accasions received texts that were from soem1 unknown. I simply replied that i didn't know who they were in in 1 case I never heard back, another 1 replied to apologize.... wrong number in his address book. No big deal really... unless they threaten you via text? In which case you'd go to the police i suppose

Well if it was a threat I'd ring up voda and demand that number is disconnected. But I'm geussing that would be a long and winded job. I'm geussing someone from voda would have to see the txt or something like that so they can prove that number has sent a threat. Then after that I suppose it would be passed onto the police if you wished to press charges.
