> P900 Sync software has 50MB footprint?!
Bookmark topic
Hi guys,
Just bought a P900 to replace my old T68. Wonderful toy, really love it so far!
But then I installed the sync software that I got with the phone, and that resulted in almost 10 new processes in WinXP, with a total of almost 50MB memory usage!
I mean, which SonyEricsson IDIOT decided that crap was good enough? How can they ship something that constantly uses 50MB of system RAM? It's just synchronization and backup software, for Christ sake. For reference, a clean WinXP installation uses LESS than that.
Are you really using this horrible bloatware, or are there better software available out there?

Unless you sync the phone every day, move the shortcut "Phone Connection Monitor" from your startup folder in the start menu, to another folder, and run it only when you plan to communicate with the phone. When done, reboot or end the processes manually.

Wouldn't dream of saying that anything over a gig is gravy...the more the merrier... but then again I wouldn't try to be a smarmy dickhead and highlight it to someone who has a problem...but that's just me.

This explains the out of memory problem. It's horrible. Hope SE would fix this problem. This might also be the reason why not ALL my contacts syncs. For some strange reason, only about 60% my contacts sync.
