Excuse my ignorance , How easy is it to have a normal www website and to make it (or parts of it) accessible to wap ?
What i mean is , to have it available to pc and wap users , including a message board. Basically like Esato
I would appreciate any help with this

it all depends on what type of phone you want the site to work on. If making the site for t610, it is fairly easy, as the t610 can read basic html. Though if you want it to work on all phones, you will need to make the site in both html and wml, or xhtml, then have browser detection, to detect which to type of code to display, so the browser can understand it.

Well I was thinking of it being available to wap phones in general.
Is there a lot of expense involved or is it more a knowledge / time thing ?

no not much expense, unless you get somebody to create the site for you. You will need to learn php to get browse detection i would guess, but there are lots of sites with good information on them.

I actually have a PHP script...if you have PHP support on your site, all you need to do is make one page WAP and the other regular and it will auto-detect!

or...

you can just use xhtml which is almost the same as html, but many phones can access it.

also after you get the pages made, you need to set up MIME types...there's a topic on it already, all you have to do is find it and save a file (no real knowledge required)

If what you want is simple - then there is a php package called hawhaw (www.hawhaw.de) that can serve up wap/html versions automagically.
