> Problem: Synchronization not started
Bookmark topic
Hi All!
Sorry this is yet another synchronization problem! I have a p800 and recently the contact synchronization stopped working. The phone connects, the phone connection manager sees it, I can perfrom backups and see the phone from within explorer. But when I come to do a synchonization (with windows address book or outlook), the sync software starts and says synchronization in progress... but gets stuck with the contacts "Synchronization not started".
I have tried upgrading to 2.1.1 but this hasn't helped.
Any ideas? I've tried installing/uninstalling. Scanned for spyware. Disabled viruscheckers / firewall etc...
Cheers
Si

When you where trying to sync with Outlook, did you get a warning window, that says something like "Another program trying to access your Outlook mail-addresses..."? In that case you have to submit, otherwise you are not able to sync. So is the situation for me every time I will synchronize with Outlook 2000 and P800 + P900.

Thanks for getting back so quick. Unfortunatley, it doesn't even get as far as that. It just seems to hang before trying to do anything with outlook.
I am now just trying to get it to work with the windows address book. I even tried deleting my existing WAB file and triyng with a new one...

Check your firewall and see if MROUTERRUNTIME.EXE is permitted.
If it is not, you will get connected but no icon appearing. I have just manually created this fault by blocking that application.
Good luck

The mRouterRuntime.exe is added under zonealarm. I've actually totally disabled the firewall and still have this problem.
I think the mrouterruntime is working fine because I can still do all the other things like backup and view the p800 with explorer...
Thanks for the suggestion though, keep em coming

Try turning the phone off and back on. Too easy perhaps, but it worked for me
