> Z600: Show own ID when calling - any default setting?

Hi, I'm a new SE owner (always have been Nokias). Just got a Z600, and what an amazing improvement from Nokia!!
One irritating thing though.. I can't find any "default setting" to permanently send my own ID to other phones.. I have to keep doing that "Call and Show ID on next Call" thing for each call. This is extremely irritating. I can't imagine why the software engineers at SE don't add this feature..
So I am posting this message in hope that somehow I might have misread my manual, or that someone know of a solution to this problem.
I live in South Africa, and checked with my Service Provider - there is nothing they can do for me. They say it is my handset.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I thought it sent that information by deafult. I also think that that option is only if you have a hidden number... Have you tried not to "show my ID" before a call and seen what happens?

Yes, I've tried that. It only works when I set my phone to send my ID on my next call. If I just make a normal call, it shows as a private call on the receiving end..
I've never had this problem before for the past 4 years on my previous 2 Nokia phones. It's still the same contract.
Thanks for the reply.

I have had this problem before, I put my sim card in a Nokia and set it to show my number and now it always shows my number from SE phones!!!

The default on an unbranded

Z600 is to send your number. If it is not doing that, somehow you have changed your settings. I would indeed suspect on your SIM, but if that is not it, perhaps a call to your provider?

True.In ALL cases the SIM is set on "default" to send the number. If it doesn't send it it`s cuz u had it hidden. But a quick glance in the menu will tell u the status. If this continues, call ur provider cuz they can set it by default from the central.

Thanks. This might sound stupid, but how can I check that my number is not perhaps 'hidden' after all in the menu? I've entered it into the erea where it says "My mobile".. Is there a setting about hiding it somewhere?
Otherwise I'm going to get in touch with my Service Provider anyway.

Ok, my Service Provider finally woke up. They have realized that my default CLI setting (on their side) was set to "hide" unless my handset overrides it (like the Nokias can easily do as a general setting).
So my small problem is solved, and life is good again.
Thanks for your advice.
