Ive got a p800 which id like to sell, trouble is, its not in the best condition. It is however, still within its year warranty which means id get a new handset if it became defective. So... whats the best way of ensuring my handset develops a fault significant enough to warranty a replacement, but subtle enough to be unobvious that it was deliberate?? I was thinking about taking it apart and frying one of the chips inside with about 20 volts. But.. having taken it apart before, i noticed that an electrical connection has to be broken to fully separate the components. Is this an electronic "seal of warranty"? What are your thoughts?

Check that you will get a new one, most companies are not obliged to give you a new one, once you have had it more than a month, what they give you is a reconditioned P800, or a repair to yours, also as the decision will be made at the dealer, there is no "ideal" fault, service centers are very clever at spotting deliberate sabotage, they could even declare the phone as "Water damaged" & refuse to replace it, even if it isn't water damaged, they may be as dishonest as you

Well its not insured so maybe i should insure it and leave it on a park bench for some fat woman to come along and sit on it. Celestica have usually been pretty good at replacing my faulty handsets though... but obviously i dont want to break it only to be told its not gonna be replaced. A risk worth taking??

So i get it insured, drop it down the toilet, get it replaced, then terminate my insurance when i can? That seems even dodgier but whatever. Can you reccommend a reputable insurance company with good rates and specific plans for high end handsets?

Get phone insurance, wait a while and then report the handset as stolen to the police and your insurance company, might take a while, but you'll get a new phone eventually

Dood, how much do you want for it, I'll take it as is, not too worried about the outside condition, as long as it works ok.

Most insurance companies wont touch a mobile phone unless it's within 14 days of purchase.

I don't get it... Taking a copy of software is not something we are allowed to talk about in here, and all links are deleted by the admins. But insurance fraud is ok?
