I've had exactly the same problem and haven't managed to sort it. Other people have tried reinstalling the software, ensuring the correct COM ports are enabled, lightly blowing the contacts of the phone to ensure a clean connection, unplugging the USB cabe from the computer and then putting the phone onto the synch station then plugging the USB cable back into the computer.
None of these worked for me - hope one of them works for u.

It's a bloody wind-up isn't it?
I've had similar problems on both my work Win XP pc and home win 2k pc for the last week or so and have tried pretty much everything suggested in this forum. The main thing ppl seem to be saying is "turn off ur firewall", though this did nothing for , nor reinstalling PC Suite 2.1.1, fiddling with Com port's etc. The weird thing is the syncstation worked initially on both machines then changed it's mind some time later.
Atm I've actually managed to get the sync station working on the XP machine after I used XP's System Restore facility (Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore)
Bit of a crap solution in my opinion but I was desperate
Can install software now, but can't synchronise or upload individual files :/
I'm just hoping things improve once the p900's firmware gets upgraded - otherwise, it's a bit pointless having the thing.

If you are using an xp, go to control panel, system, hardware and device manager. Uninstall your usb controller for the sync station. Then refresh the same to identify the new hardware and install the driver from the cd of your cellphone. I hope this works since I had the same problem when I reinstalled my windows software

trial and error seems to work the best for all users...

Similar prob - except my winxp laptop wont see my p900 at all - says its not connected. Same browsing in win explorer and the sync station. Tried reinstalling drivers and all the obvious stuff - most frustrating as I've forgotten how to remember things unaided...

I solved it for my config.
First I uninstalled the USB driver (control panel -> system -> hardware tab -> device mgr -> USB controllers -> [...] syncstation -> r click uninstall).
Then I downloaded and installed the latest USB syncstation driver from SE website.
And now it works!
Some problems remain, notably syncronize doesn't autostart when I place the phone in the cradle.
